The “Positive Impact Site” installation will include a three-minute movie.
It will be the first thing you see when you approach the Impact Site.

The idea of the film is to fill the viewer with wonder, which from the screenings I have done, seems to work. After the three-minute film, the viewer enters a narrow hallway into a freestanding cylindrical tent that represents a cenote. **

Inside there is a 10' x 4' painting of the cenote illuminated from above, from the tree above (in full bloom, supporting a multitude of plant Life) through the rock opening down to the bottom of the cenote waters.

There will be no one in the painting, only the environment. There will be a fountain in the center of the tent illuminated by an intense light from above. Around the fountain will be white limestone rocks, from the actual impact site in the Yucatan. People will be encouraged to take one to carry with them through the rest of the exhibit.

After taking a moment in the cenote tent, the viewer will leave and go through a concentric hallway surrounding the tent. In this hallway are six paintings that take the viewer from the darkness into the light. The subject in the paintings, will go from darkness in isolation to the light in community with others.

As the circular passage ends, there will be an invitation to "Take a Step." The viewer will be led out to the other side of the walled circular area. Posted on the exterior wall will be black and white photographs, depicting the seven areas of concern, evoking positive action. Questions will be posed at each area, with “steps” that can be taken off the wall and carried away from the site. On these “steps” are explicit instructions for actions that can be taken to make an immediate impact in one of the seven areas.

**Cenotes are deep water filled sinkholes formed by water percolating through the soft limestone above.  The Yucatan Peninsula has no aboveground rivers, a result of the asteroid impact that caused the extinction of the Dinosaurs along with 75 percent of life on Earth. These underground bodies of water continue to be extremely important to civilization.

I need your help with this project to engage the viewers and to help raise awareness of how we can have an immediate positive impact on our environment. by supplying information and tools for living on our planet in a more responsible way.  I plan to take this installation to a variety of sites and to replicate it in many locations, including online at “The Positive Impact Website”. Please contact me if you are interested in contributing either your time, materials, expertise or financial resources to this project.  Thank you for your support.
